This last weekend Shawn and I were in Napa, California for our good friends wedding. Jake married Olya, a beautiful girl from Russia. I’ll post a picture of the four of us later. She is absolutely gorgeous, I’m sure that she is the most beautiful bride I have ever seen.
When I got to California, I was under the impression that we were staying with some people from Jake’s church. Well Shawn had a little surprise for me. He got us a great deal at The Cottages of Napa Valley. It’s a group of cottages that have recently been renovated and are run like a bed and breakfast. It was so relaxing and was a great break since we left Sam with my parents in Canada.

We had a king size bed that was more comfortable than our bed at home.

There was a small fireplace that pumped out a lot of heat. In this picture you can also see the big bathtub.

The bathroom had two faucets but one sink. We have never seen anything quite like it. It’s pretty cool.

The cottage had a kitchenette and we had breakfast in a wicker basket delivered to our front porch every morning.

All in all it was a great last getaway without kids until this new little one is much older! Thanks Shawn for the extra special weekend!
