Sam’s first Christmas! The holiday took on a whole new meaning for us this year. Having a baby in the house made us realize in a whole new way the humanness and vulnerability of Christ. For once I didn’t feel convicted when people mentioned how we all need to remember the true meaning of the season, this year I couldn’t forget it. Every time I looked into the face of my son, I thanked God for two of the greatest gifts. Him sending his son and giving me my family.

We spent many hours on Christmas Eve playing monopoly with the Kelleys. I think it was the first monopoly game we’ve played all the way through in years. (I won – heehee) On Christmas morning the Kelleys came over to our house. We had breakfast and then opened stockings and the presents that were from Eric, Shawn and I. In the afternoon Shawn and Eric worked in Shawn’s shop and Sam and I spent Christmas as it was meant to be…napping ☺ We went over to the Kelleys in the early evening to open the gifts from them and to eat a ham dinner.

Later in the evening we went to drop off a poinsettia and a basket full of goodies at a lady’s house. Barb met this woman when she moved here after Katrina. She was her realtor and was struck by the how many connections they had. So for Christmas we decided to do a little something extra. It was a really neat way to end the day.
