An update and details on the surgery
I’m still a little sore from the C section. I had 17 staples! I
have to admit I never thought that I would actually have to go through
major surgery…I knew the risk was there but it didn’t really hit me
that I was actually going to go through it until they brought me into
the operating room. That was scary. They had to put a needle in my
spine to give me the spinal block. The scariest part of it all was
when the meds started kicking in. I couldn’t feel anything from my
chest down. My hands and arms were tingling and half numb. It’s so
strange not being able to move your own body! The actual surgery
wasn’t so scary though. It was so awesome getting to hear Sam cry for
the first time. Shawn even cut the cord (and I was worried about him
passing out!). Shawn was awesome, he was super supportive and it was
so much fun watching him fall in love with our son. He would just melt
when he held Sam. God is so good.
